Nii Tackie-Komme wins Odododiodoo NDC primary

THE incumbent National Democratic Congress (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Odododiodoo, Mr Jonathan Nii Tackie-Komme, was on Sunday retained as the party’s aspirant for the 2008 polls.
Nii Tackie-Komme polled 115 votes to beat Mr Walid Ayitei Laryea, who had 97. The third aspirant, Mr Benjamin Nii Ayikwei Okine, had 21 votes.
Addressing the delegates after the election, Nii Tackie-Komme said the victory was not for him as a person but for the other two aspirants and the NDC party as a whole.
He said now that the primary was over, all factions should bury the hatchet and join forces to secure a resounding victory for the party in the constituency, come December 7.

Mr Tackie-Komme said even though there was every indication that the NDC would form the next government, it would not come on a silver platter. He urged the party supporters not to be complacent because the constituency was the stronghold of the party but stressed the need for all party supporters to work assiduously to increase their support base.
Just before the ballot was cast, all the aspirants were advised to pledge that whatever the outcome of the election, they would all accept the results and support the winner, which they complied.
