The General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mr Bernard Mornah, who left the shores of the country for studies abroad arrived last night to shore up the campaign of his party.
He is currently pursuing a Master’s programme in International Development and Economics at the University of Applied Sciences, in Berlin.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Mr Mornah said he was rejuvenated to help the party execute what he termed “militant push campaign” to win the 2008 elections.
He said Ghanaians had tried and tested the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress NDC and have had enough of their failures.
He said the electorate were now looking for the PNC administration, which had the propensity and ability to bring about a prosperous nation, in which all, irrespective of their social standing, would be treated equally by the government.
Mr Mornah said the PNC had been consistent with its credible policies over the years, some of which had been executed by the NDC and the NPP, without giving credit to the PNC.
He mentioned some of those policies as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), establishment of Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs, the School Feeding Programme, which the NPP asked the PNC how it would finance it when the PNC first proposed it, and the GETFund, which was also implemented by the NDC administration.
He said these notwithstanding, the party would continue to design very convincing and pragmatic policies that have the primary tendency to alleviate poverty, provide affordable education and health to all Ghanaian children to realise their potential and be able to also contribute their quota to the advancement of the country.
Mr Mornah said although there was every indication that Ghanaians had bought into the vision of the PNC and accepted it, it was necessary for the party to also ensure that Ghanaians accepted the PNC candidate and vote for him.
